AIVA Command: AI video analysis for incident command

Interreg Vlaanderen-Nederland, co-funded by the European Union, CrossRoads Vlaanderen-Nederland

SkySync is a partner in AIVA Command, a cross-border innovation project with Gemsotec (BE) and Polarix Data (NL). The project is co-funded by the European Union through the Interreg Flanders–Netherlands CrossRoads programme and runs from 1 April 2026 to 31 December 2027.

Goal

Emergency services and industrial sites have more camera and drone footage than ever, but turning it into usable information under time pressure is still manual work. AIVA Command connects live drone video (SkySync), AI analysis (Polarix Data) and the INA intervention platform (Gemsotec) into one chain. The result is one shared, up-to-date situational picture for the control room, commanders, field teams and the drone pilot.

SkySync's role

SkySync delivers the secure, low-latency drone video stream into the platform and extends the pilot environment, so that points of interest and observations flow between the drone pilot and the command team.

Results so far

  • Drone streams are available to the project partners as secure RTSPS links.
  • Video travels encrypted from the DJI controller over a managed WireGuard VPN, with guided onboarding for pilots.
  • Latency from drone to viewer stays below 350 ms on a good connection.
  • A continuously running flight simulator supports integration testing.
